Eldenrøch
Overview
There are three main regions that house civilization in the known lands of Eldenrøch: The Northern Sanction, The Southlands, and The Surami Desert. Physical barriers, both natural and man made, separate the regions from each other.
The Barrier Peaks
The Barrier Peaks is the mountain range that separates The Northern Sanction from The Southlands. The peaks are enormous, steep, vast, and nigh impossible to pass. The only passage through the peaks is through The Gate. The dwarves in The Southlands have tunnelled under the peaks, but it has never been confirmed if they’ve connected to The Northern Sanction.
The Gate
The Gate is a man made wonder that blocks the only safe passage through The Barrier Peaks. It was originally constructed by the people of the south to end the invasions of beasts from the north. The beasts differ depending on who is telling the story. The Gate has since been claimed, expanded, and fortified by The Northern Sanction.
The Scorched Lands
The Scorched Lands are the dragon infested lands that separate The Northern Sanction and The Southlands from the Surami Desert to the far east. Before the dragons inhabited the area, it was a heavily commuted trade route between the three regions.
The Sea of Endless Stars
The vast body of water to the south of The Scorched Lands that separates The Southlands and the Surami Desert is known as The Sea of Endless Stars. No sailors dare to cross The Sea of Endless Stars out of fear of the treacherous waters known as the Ring of Storms. It is commonly known that any vessel that enters The Ring of Storms never returns. Trade between the two regions is still possible, but ships have to sail along the southern coast – a journey which takes months.
The Northern Sanction
Isolated from the rest of the known lands by it’s natural and man made borders, the Northern Sanction is a prosperous region north of The Barrier Peaks. The farms that stretch the rolling plains in the central region have supplied most of the food for both The Northern Sanction and The Southlands for generations. All commerce that passes through The Gate is taxed by the king of Ultenor – The Northern Sanction’s only ruler. The Northern Sanction is populated mostly by humans, elves, and half-elves.

The human capital city that rules over The Northern Sanction.
King Allister Airaven
King Allister is the current ruler of Ultenor. Once a kind ruler, he has displayed crazy and erratic behavior in recent months.
The Southlands
The Southlands is the area south of The Gate and The Barrier Peaks. Rule over The Southlands is split among three separate kingdoms – Belgarohm, Entheas, and Steadwick – each respectively named after the capital city that oversees them.
Belgarohm
Belgarohm is the capital city and region ruled by the dwarves of The Southlands. Their laws are harsh – condemning even the lowest of offenders to a life of slavery in the mines beneath the city. They pride themselves on their wealth and craftsmanship.
