Session 7 - "To Ash & Mounds"

  • Entering the Dungeon:
    • The party entered a dimly lit dungeon, filled with the remnants of past adventurers. They moved cautiously, aware of possible traps and enemies.
  • First Combat Encounter:
    • As they explored, they encountered four automatons stationed in a room. These mechanical foes were armed with firearms.

    Combat Actions:

      • Bob (Minotaur Fighter):
        • Bob charged into the fray, swinging his battle axe. His first swing missed, but he quickly regained his footing.
        • On his second attack, he rolled a higher number, hitting one of the automatons and dealing significant damage. He then used his Horns of Fury ability to shove the automaton back 10 feet, creating space.
      • Veric (Ranger):
        • Veric moved strategically to a corner, gaining a clear line of sight on one of the automatons. He activated Hunter’s Mark, enhancing his damage potential.
        • He rolled to attack with his longbow, successfully hitting the automaton and causing it to stagger.
      • Gus (Warlock):
        • Gus entered the room and attempted to cast Eldritch Blast. His first attempt fizzled, missing completely.
        • Not deterred, he focused and fired again, successfully hitting another automaton and causing it to lose an arm.
      • Bara (Monk):
        • Bara leaped onto a nearby table, attempting a flashy attack. He aimed to strike one of the automatons with an unarmed strike but missed.
        • On his second attempt, he used a Flurry of Blows, landing a solid hit and dealing damage, causing the automaton to glitch.
    • Trap Encounter:
      • After defeating the automatons, the party approached a locked door.
      • Gus attempted to disarm the lock with his thieves’ tools but rolled poorly, triggering a poison dart trap.
        • The dart hit him, causing 17 points of poison damage, but he managed to save against being poisoned.
    • Securing the Room:
      • The party decided to take a long rest to recover from their injuries. They wedged a table against the door to secure their position.
      • During the rest, they discussed their encounters, shared experiences, and planned for the next phase of their adventure.
    • Leveling Up:
      • After their long rest, they leveled up. Each character reflected on their new abilities and spell slots:
        • Bob gained increased hit points and improved combat abilities.
        • Veric and Gus chose new spells to enhance their magical prowess.
        • Bara focused on improving his martial arts skills.
    • Next Steps:
      • With spirits high and new powers at their disposal, the party prepared to explore deeper into the dungeon.
      • They discussed the potential for additional combat and traps, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
